After operating restaurants in Boston for ten years I decided to buy land in the countryside of Maine and start farming. The farm was established in Freedom, ME in 2020 and our retail store opened in Wiscasset in 2023.
The Sicilian Farmer is a Licensed Producer and Dealer of Nursery Stock in the State of Maine. All of our Seed Garlic varieties have tested negative for garlic bloat nematode, white mold, and botrytis and 100% Certified Organic by MOFGA. Garlic seed generally ships in October with a 2″ minimum bulb size.
All of our fruits, vegetables and nursery stock are sustainably grown using only OMRI-Allowed, NOP-Approved and all natural amendments including aged farmyard manure, fish-based compost and old hay for mulch.
