FRESHLY GROWN AT OUR FARM IN FREEDOM
Local food is a crucial element of a sustainable and resilient food system, ideally with food that is grown, processed, and consumed within a relatively small geographic area. While we supply local restaurant and markets in New England our fresh products, we store and ship our cold hardy seed garlic nationwide*.

OUR PRACTICES
The Sicilian Farmer is a Producer and Dealer of Seed Garlic in the State of Maine. Our crops are grown at our family-owned farm in Freedom, ME. All of our Seed Garlic varieties have tested negative for garlic bloat nematode, white mold, and botrytis. All 2026 orders ship October through November with a minimum 2-1/8″ average bulb size.
ABOUT ME
After operating restaurants in Boston for ten years I decided to buy land in the countryside of Maine and start farming. The farm was established in Freedom, Maine in 2020 and our e-commerce store in 2023.
